Dee McCaffrey, CDC is still committing time to be available for 1-on-1 nutrition counseling. If your goal is weight loss or returning to health, Dee wants you to know that this is a process. You must understand that weight loss or returning to health through proper diet can be a significant life change to be a 1-on-1 client with Dee, you must be committed to making major changes to your diet, your thinking, and your lifestyle.
Dee's nutrition counseling program is conducted via telephone and email. It consists of nutritional guidance and education for long-term health. Clients are encouraged to eat foods in their closest to natural form. Emphasis is placed on taking personal responsibility for one's own health through nutrition education, avoiding processed foods, becoming educated shoppers, and preparing food that is nutritious and tasty.
The nutrition philosophy focuses on restoring balance in the physical body, thereby restoring the body's health, natural size, and weight. Recommended dietary protocols encompass many aspects of how food energies interact with the body, mind, and spirit to create health or dis-ease. A balance of nutrient dense foods and supplementation provide the body with the necessary fiber and nutrients to stabilize blood sugar levels, eliminate cravings, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and regenerate the cells.
In your first consultation, Dee will determine your specific needs, and formulate goals for making the necessary changes to your food, eating, and lifestyle. Prior to your first consultation you will need to complete an extensive intake form and you will need to keep a record of everything you eat for 7 days. These forms will need to be returned prior to your first consultation. Please allow at least one and a half hours for your first appointment. In this session Dee will go over your food history, your current lifestyle, and discuss what changes you may need to make with regard to your current food choices. You will also be given activities and tools to help you stay focused and committed to your process.
Dee will spend a considerable amount of time outside of the sessions to go over your paperwork and the information provided during your sessions. There are many factors that contribute to an individual's state of health and well-being and all must be considered when preparing a personal eating plan. Each person has a unique combination of genetics, culture, metabolism, constitution, current physical condition, lifestyle, environment, and level of commitment. Each of these elements require specific nutritional needs and cannot be applied to all people.
The information provided in your paperwork and during your first consultation will be used to set achievable goals and to create your personal plan for eating and physical activity. This plan will include specific foods, portions, recipes, and meal plans to help you lose weight while bringing your body into balance and a new state of health. Because each individual's body is unique, your body's response to the new eating practices will be monitored closely and changes made to the food plan as appropriate. Because processed foods are so addictive, there will be much discussion of your emotional well-being and how it affects your food choices. Emotional and still deeper issues will be addressed, in terms of how you relate to food, to yourself, and to the world.
Personal growth is a process, and the lifestyle changes introduced in your early sessions require ongoing re-enforcement and support. Follow-up sessions are essential to helping you stay focused and accountable. Education, support and guidance to assist you in the development of a lifestyle that supports permanent weight loss is the basis of ongoing consultations that will take you to your goal weight and beyond.
